The equipment you choose will depend on your level and the type of class you're taking. If you're just starting out, it's perfectly fine to focus on bodyweight exercises - this is the best way to build a solid foundation and perfect your form. All of our classes can be done without equipment, especially in the early stages when the priority is mastering the movements. Once you’re comfortable, you might choose to incorporate light weights or resistance bands to add an extra challenge and enhance your strength-building.
Regardless of your level, the key is to select equipment that still allows you to maintain excellent form throughout each exercise. Remember, Pilates is all about controlled movement, and any equipment you use should support that.
Here’s a quick guide to the equipment used across the app:
The Mat: Essential for most classes to provide support and stability.
Hand / Ankle Weights: Ideal for adding resistance in specific classes, especially in strength-focused sessions.
Resistance Bands: Great for increasing resistance in both upper and lower body exercises.
The Ball: Used to engage deeper muscles and add challenge to certain movements.
Pilates Ring: Optional equipment for targeting specific muscle groups with added resistance.

Pilates is a method built on consistency. As Joseph Pilates famously said: “In 10 sessions you’ll feel the difference, in 20 you’ll see the difference, and in 30 you’ll have a whole new body”. We recommend practising 4-6 times per week for best results, but even 10 minutes a day can shift your posture, energy, and mindset. Bryony’s classes are designed to be repeatable, progress-focused, and sustainable over time.

You get the best of both worlds. A new pre-recorded class is added every week, and we offer a weekly live class taught by Bryony, giving you the opportunity to practise in real time and connect with the community. Whether you're joining live or catching up on-demand, every class is designed to feel energising, and aligned with your body’s needs.
